I am in agreement with you all – we should
not just be looking at B2B. We do, however, have to start
somewhere.
Given the interest in abstract processes,
B2B seemed to be an ideal starting point. Simpl-eb appears to provide the
best (e.g. most “implementable”) reference - especially given UCC’s
Implementation Guide (thanks again to Rajesh for the submission. If BPEL
The Use Case subgroup does not intend to
focus on granular technical issues – we are more interested in looking at
real-world/standardized processes and drilling them down into manageable use
cases that can be represented using BPEL. Granular technical issues are
handled by the Issues subgroup.
If you know of any standardized EAI
scenarios/processes we should take a look at I would love to hear about it.
There may be some things at OMG we can look at, but they may be more technical
than process oriented. (BTW: I’ve always thought of EAI as a subset
of B2B anyway –the private portion of a public B2B process).
