call. 

Summary of new Action Items:

        All
members need to review PR0001 and PR0002 and send resolutions 

        before
next meeting.  If we don't have resolutions or new agenda 

        items
the chairs will consider cancelling the August 19th meeting.

TC meets every two weeks, however especially during the

         
              summer
months if there are not enough agenda items and

seem to be a high number of folks away from the office

         
              then the
meeting may be cancelled by the Chairs.  Please 

         
              monitor
the OASIS TC calendar and postings prior to each 

         
              meeting.

 

                
       The next scheduled meeting is now August

       NEW ISSUES:

         
              PR0001:
Revise federation metadata document structure to eliminate 

         
               
              ambiguities
and improve interoperability[3]

                
               

         
               
      An
implementation effort found ambiguities with respect to 

         
               
      metadata.  Some sort of structuring mechanism
is required.  

         
               
      SAML Metadata already seems to include the
structures being 

         
               
      looked at.  Discussions with some of
the SAML folks seems to 

         
               
      support this notion and they seem to be willing
to consider 

         
               
      supporting the small changes needed to support
WSFED's needs 

         
               
      here.  This might be a good mechanism
for harmony between

         
               
      the two groups rather than WSFED working to
create a 

         
               
      different version.

         
               
      Because there are current implementations
of WSFED spec 

         
               
      currently being shipped and others in the
queue getting ready 

         
               
      for shipment.  Migration needs to be
considered as this gets 

         
               
      resolved. A new namespace was mentioned as
a potential for 

         
               
      handling this.

         
               
      Teams who have begun implementation of the
specification need 

         
               
      to review the issue and potentials for migration.

              PR0002:
Federation metadata, DNS SRV, and RFC 2782 [4]

         
               
      Three
problems noted with WSFED's use of data retrieval

         
               
      mechanisms.  Problem statement suggests
that all you

         
               
      really need is HTTP/HTTPS mechanism.  
               
     

                

                  
            ACTION: Change
state to Active.
