Excellent presentation, though I only managed to join after the first 20 mins because of the conferencing problems and I have to leave early :-( 

A very extensive overview but it may wish to mention project liberty (www.projectliberty.org) which just defined a framework for federating Web Sevices:

Also, the US government's eAuthentication initiative may be interesting for user identification and portal federation:
