More detailed logistics for the Interop/F2F

Here is some more detailed logistical
information for our upcoming Interop test and F2F meetings including some
hotel suggestions  I received from the local IBM team in San Francisco.

MEETING FACILITY

Room CR-3 on the 25th floor

I will tell the security desk to expect
people saying they are arriving for the "OASIS Web Services Security
meetings" - please use that phrase if you have any issues at the security
check. The name of the local IBM meeting coordinator is near the end of
this e-mail - if all else fails and you are having trouble getting in (which
I doubt) have them call her.

DIRECTIONS FROM SFO
AIRPORT TO MEETING FACILITY

Take the U.S. 101 North/I-380 West ramp
towards San Francisco/San Bruno (I-280).

Merge onto U.S. 101 North.

Take U.S. 101 North towards Bay Bridge.

Take the Fourth Street exit.

Merge onto Bryant Street

Turn left onto 3rd Street.

Turn left on Fremont Street.  
Continue on Fremont until you arrive at the 425 Market Street facility.
 Parking is located on the Fremont Street entrance of the building.

DIRECTIONS FROM OAKLAND
AIRPORT TO MEETING FACILITY

Turn left  on Airport Drive.

Turn right onto Hegenberger Road.

Take the I-880 North ramp towards Downtown
Oakland.

Merge onto I-880 North. 

Take the I-80 West  ramp towards
the Bay Bridge.

Take the Fremont Street exit, and turn
left on Fremont Street.

Continue on Fremont Street until arrive
at the 425 Market Street facility.  Parking is located on the Fremont
Street entrance of the building.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit).  The
web site is www.bart.gov.   BART runs daily.  The hours of operation
are Monday through Friday from 4:00 AM until midnight; Saturday from 7:00
AM until midnight; Sunday from 8:00 AM until midnight.  

Fares and tickets:

Children under 4 ride free.  Everyone
else must have a BART ticket.   BART fares are based on distance traveled.
 You can determine the cost of your fare by using one of the fare
charts located at each station.   You can purchase BART tickets at
station vending machines.  All BART stations sell tickets through
automatic ticket machines that accept nickels, dimes, quarters, $1, $5,
$10 and $20 bills. 

San Francisco Muni.  The
web site is www.sfmuni.com.  

The cost to ride muni is $1 for adults.
 Exact change is required as no change is given.  No dollar bills
are accepted in the subway.  You may obtain a City Pass which
is good for seven (7) consecutive days, and it is good for several attractions
in San Francisco.  The cost is $34.75 for adults.  Tickets may
be purchased at the Visitor Information Center located at Powell and Market
Streets. 

San Francisco Cable Car.  The
cost is $2 per person. 

GROUND TRANSPORTATION:

TAXI SERVICE

Taxis depart from the lower level outside
baggage claim of all terminals.  Look for the information display
at the yellow column in the Taxi boarding areas.  The approximate
fare to the San Francisco Financial area is $30.00, and will vary
according to street address and traffic delays.

PARKING:

Daily parking in San Francisco is expensive
with an average cost of $22 - $30.00.  Not only is parking costly,
but it is also scarce.  Therefore, we recommend you arrive by 7:00
AM as parking lots usually are full by 7:30 AM.   Following are a
