There was actually a recent thread on this, the subject line of which
differed from your's by only three characters :-)  So I'll take the lazy
(and Web-like) way and refer you to that thread[1] instead of addressing
your questions straight off. Also, you can find lots of XPath experts on the
XSL-List[2], which is probably a better home for XPath-specific discussion.
