RE: [xml-dev] XML Technologies: Progress via Simplification or Co mplexification?
So to point of view: in Roger's case, by interation,
he found he could simplify his design. Is it really
the case that what was becoming simpler was not his
design, but his understanding of his requirement?

The essence of mastery is the perception of simple
skill. The easier it looks, the more effort was
required of the master. This is what is meant
by the Zen saying that the master becomes the
novice. In the recent article cited from Chaitin,
he noted how in a hundred years, theories would
emerge that would take only a few pages to
describe because the terminology would evolve
to the point that fewer terms are necessary
and so what was once complicated to explain
would be simple. Is this an advance in
terminology or in understanding?
