Hi Mike,

Then problem is the lack of initial template for the root. When you XSLT 
engine works it doesn't find a template for the root so it uses a 
default one for each XML element writing the text content that's why you 
have N output lines.

Try this :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
                version="1.0">

  <xsl:output method="text" />

  <xsl:template match="presentation">
  <xsl:text>Hello World!&#10;   </xsl:text>
  </xsl:template>

<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:apply-templates select="//presentation"/>
</xsl:template>

</xsl:stylesheet>
