        You might also open the Word2000 files in OpenOffice (which is
        MS compatible and delivers native XML) and try to convert them
        into the Simplified Docbook format using �ric Bellot's toolkit
        (which calls a Python script).
        
        The instructions are in French, but he gives examples:
