Also, please don�t feel limited to the ideas posted. As you explore the DocBook tools and the features it has and doesn�t you may come up with your own idea for a project. According to Google, those are often the most successful.

Thank you very much for your reply.I am following the "DocBook: The Definitive Guide" and haven't yet touched the "DocBook XSL: The Complete Guide".DocBook community seems to be very friendly and helpful and thus I am encouraged.Again thank you for sharing your ideas with me.

As a start to DocBook, you may refer the following two great books "DocBook: The Definitive Guide" and "DocBook XSL: The Complete Guide" [1] [2]. The first book covers the DocBook schema and is a good reference book. The second book covers almost all the things you need to know about DocBook XSL styling. I think you will need these two books a lot for this project! :)

Further, I hope you went through this year's GSoC ideas list and the last year's ideas list? [3] [4] Some of the last year's ideas were already implemented (4 successful project IIRC!), and I'm not sure whether those ideas will be eligible for this year. Probably they will!
