Sections 3.1, 3.2 (which includes common types), 3.3 and 3.4 are all marked as non-normative. 

Does that mean that all the sections from 3.1 to the start of 3.5 are non-normative? That is making a section non-normative usually includes all of its sub-sections. 

Reading the prose I don't think that is what you meant but it is what the document says.
