How to Price Demand Side Load Balancing
The attached link, from Tuesday’s WSJ, discusses increases in greenhouse gases from using wind because of the high cost to balance things out grid side.

Delivery of energy to the end nodes will have to match when it is generated. If you want to buy [wind] energy only, you need to buy only when it is available.
