The Draft Standards for Electronic Filing Processes have been approved
by the drafting
subcommittee, cochaired by J. Denis Moran and Michael J. Roggero, for
public comment for thirty
days.  The draft standards will be posted very shortly on the National
Center for State Courts
website at http://www.ncsc.dni.us/ncsc/ctp/htdocs/standards/htm .  You
can also get to it from the
Technology Standards link on http://www.ncsconline.org.  The comment
period will close on
Saturday, June 15th.  The subcommittee seeks input from all interested
persons on the content of
the draft standards and on any topics that have not yet been covered in
the standards.

The subcommittee also requests links to copies of state and local rules
pertaining to electronic filing
for inclusion in the Bibliography ..

For persons interested in becoming more involved in the development of
XML standards for
electronic filing, the first meeting of the Court Filing Technical
Committee of the Legal XML
Member Section of OASIS will be a telephone conference call on June 20
and 21.  A number of the Technical Committee members will gather in Salt
Lake City to participate in the call.  For information, contact
Robin Gibson at [email protected].

At the NACM Annual meeting in July, there willl be several sessions
devoted to standards and
XML for those wishing more information.
