John and Dan, Coordinating meetings at the ABA Annual is a great idea. Let's pool what we know... Law Practice Management: The eLawyering Task Force has reserved rooms for Friday PM and Saturday PM at the Grand Hyatt. We can schedule a blocks time to suit the various groups. SCOTIS: Dave Whelan indicated we can also utilize the SCOTIS time slot and room as well. I have to attend the LPM Section Council meeting then for some debates and votes I can't miss on Saturday AM. Dave, will you have the room in the PM? Business Law: Jamie Clark is tracking down the schedule for BizLaw. There are several committees (CyberSpace Law, ADR) that have some interest in LegalXML. Dispute Resolution Section: Tim Cole is holding a IP and ODR committee meeting for the Dispute resolution Section on Sunday at 8 AM. Science & Tech: Is the S&T eFiling committee meeting? When? I am a member of S&T and can sign-up. How? Litigation Section: There is a group in the wings that is interested in starting a LegalXML Standard for Electronic Discovery (I've copied the ringleader, George Socha). I've also invited the Transcripts Group to do a face to face. Criminal Justice: We really need to recruit someone from Criminal Justice. Judicial Admin: ?? During the CourtFiling Committee call last week, we discussed the potential meeting in San Francisco during ABA, but they were not warm to the idea since they will have just had a face to face in Washington DC at NACM in mid July. Let me throw out the idea of inviting all of the XML players within the ABA for a no-host dinner Thursday, Saturday or Sunday night, or lunch on Saturday or Sunday? I have already purchased Ticket to a Litigation Section event on Friday. I'm signed up for Prez Reception on Sunday night and like to go to the opening assembly, but if this works for folks, it would trump the ceremonial part.
