Title: RE: Two SC Meetings - Thursday July 17th from 5-6 pm EDST, Wednesday July 23rd from 4-5pm EDST

There was a short meeting of the steering committee attended by Dan Greenwood, Karl Best and Don Bergeron.

The focus was on reenergizing the steering committee and on thoughts around three key TC targets and avenues.

On reinvigurating:

Don Bergeron will be sending a note to all TCs requesting a representive from each one to join the Steering committee within one month from today. Karl has indicated that an appointment of a volunteer with a request for objections would serve as a voting process for a TC. This is preffeably done with a meeting or telcon, however a decision on the list email would also properly serve.

Don will send out the email today with a request for acknowledgement from the chairs by Wednesday July 23rd at 3pm.

By next meeting Don will draft an open letter to the Membersection requesting nominations for the three at-large seats. The voting period for the at-large seats will be the 2 weeks after the nominations have closed. This will have the new steering committee in place in one month.

The group discussed the suggestion that Court Document should move to Legal Document at the TC level. At this time it is preffered that Court Document be renewed in Court Filing Blue or sooner and a liason be created to other TCs that have a document basis such as Contracts.

However, the clear need for a Citations TC was loud and clear. To that end we are looking to form a core from the key professional organization in that space to lead it. AALL and Harvard are the two targets. This has been based on the great experience within Court Filing with COSCA NACM.

We will be looking to energize Legislative much in the same way.

We will also look at retirement of some TCs if interest and leadership does not emerge.

The points above and the following items will be the agenda for the meeting  of July 23rd at 4PM EDST.

Invited Representatives from the ABA. John Messing, Rolly Chambers and Jim Keane.  Question? What specific roles and responsiblities do you have.

What is the visablity and message we want to have at the upcoming ABA meeting.

Also www.legalxml.org is up and running and owned by OASIS!

Regards,

Don
