Our next teleconference is scheduled for Wednesday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Eastern time. The details and tentative agenda are below:
Leader's Name: John Greacen Day/Date: Wednesday, August 11, 2004 Time of call: 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Eastern time Conference Dial-in: 512-225-3050 Conference Guest Code: 84759# Number of lines needed: Anticipated Total = 10 Duration of the call: 1.5 Hours Leader's Phone Number: 505-289-2164
Our tentative agenda will include:
- Approval of ECFTC funds request for face to face meeting of requirements subcommittee – John Greacen I have received “yes” votes from all except Cabral and Powell (who will attend the meeting, so perhaps they do not want to – and should not – vote on the matter). - Status of technical writer procurement - John Greacen - OASIS IP policies – John Messing/Don Bergeron John Messing offered at the last meeting to prepare a very rough analysis of the issues presented by the OASIS Board’s proposal. The issues that seem important (based on emails that I have seen) are 1) the impact of the new requirements on individual members; 2) the adequacy of the proposed new IP policies; 3) whether an IP waiver for one LegalXML Member Section TC should automatically cover all other Member Section TCs, and 4) which IP policy we would opt for to apply to LegalXML member section TCs. - LegalXML Australia - Strategic plan for 2004 – John Greacen See below – this is what I suggest we adopt as this year’s strategic plan - Other items of interest to Steering Committee members
I suggest that the strategic plan for this calendar year consist of these four components:
Define the role of the Steering Committee Ensure that the Steering Committee meets as needed to provide leadership for the Member Section Create Mission, Vision, Goals, and funds allocation policy statements Adopt strategic plan Adopt procedure for monitoring work of Member Section TCs
Provide financial support for specification development by TCs Travel funds for key public sector members Funding for technical writers for requirements and specification development
Ensure that all TCs are actively involved in developing specifications or are disbanded
Revitalize Legislation TC
