Hello,

Had we all been on the same call, we would have considered a request to authorize reimbursement of Steering Committee members who have no other source to cover expenses to get to the face-to-face meeting in Las Vegas. The three members of the Committee who need this support are myself, Robin Gibson, and Dave Marvit. (Figures indicated below are approximate and rounded-up; actual reimbursements will be based on actual costs with receipts.)

Robin has obtained funding from the National Center for State Courts to cover much of her trip to Las Vegas, but estimates a need for an additional $338 covering 2 days' per diem, 1 hotel overnight, and ground transportation. That will make it possible for her to remain for the Steering Committee meeting.

Dave would be in for the Steering Committee meeting only, and would need about $538 for 2 days' per diem, hotel overnight, airfare, and ground transportation.

While I could have tried to limit my stay to the Steering Committee, my department would not authorize my going to Las Vegas unless I participated in the Court Filing TC meetings (December 16 and 17). Although there is no funding for travel costs, my time would be authorized as work time. I would need reimbursement for about $734 for per diem, 3 nights hotel, airfare, and ground transportation.

The total estimated cost for underwriting meeting attendance for these three individuals is $1608. Would the Steering Committee authorize the reimbursements as described, up to this amount, understanding that actual reimbursements will be checked against these estimates and authorized based on receipts for actual costs?

John-if you wish, I can set this up as a vote in KAVI or we can take e-mail questions/discussion first and see whether there are objections. Please advise.
