Monica,
 
With regard to A: My question for you was whether OASIS has
regular meetings for which they're looking for locations. If that was
the case, we could have offered the space. 
That was just a question. You seem to see no value for OASIS in
having one of its meetings at Stanford, so let's just discard this idea
without further exploring this option.
 
With regard to B: As mentioned before, we do not have the bandwith
to organize (or co-organize) and host a conference. I understand that
there would be value in exploring all these issues in a one-day
conference, but we cannot do this unfortunately. 
 
My proposed alternative was to have an evening panel (no longer
than 2 hours) during which we could have addressed some of the current
issues. Of course this will not allow us to go in as much depth as a
one-day conference would, but it will allow us to start a conversation
with different stakeholders in Silicon Valley.
Our evening panels typically attract between 80-200 people.
 
Hope this clarifies it. We can address the question of doing a
full one-day conference perhaps in late 2011 or 2012 during your stay
here in the summer. 
But this is nothing we can commit to at this point and should
therefore not be raised with the board of OASIS.

tomorrow I have the Steering Committee of OASIS so I try to summarize
the proposals:

- A) your proposal: oragnize a technical committe on eCourt File (the
only LegalXML workgroup active now) in Stanford enlarged in some part
(evening for 2 hours) to the public and with 3-4 invited speakers
expert in the domain. Max 20 people hosted in the School of Law
premises for free.

It is not clear to me the benefit for OASIS and LegalXML in order to
disseminate the results to the community (e.g. industry) due to the

growing in US as well as in Europe. Also to disseminate the results
already achieved by LegalXML. If you can help us simply to find the
right location and to be the contact persons in Stanford (endorsement
institutional) I can propose to OASIS to take in charge, with CIRSFID,
to the logistic, administration and organization issues. Stanford
should only provide the room and the contacts with the internal process.


Take in consideration that as ICAIL this conference has costs but also
incomes from the fees, so we can pay the room and the reception.


Please let me know before tomorrow which are your thought in order to
arrive to the Sterring Committee with a clear proposal to discuss. Also
the option A is a good starting point.
