On addressing OBIX-156 it became obvious that the architecture section assumes prior knowledge and terminology with forward references.

Section 3.3 defines objects and names (but mixes naming and identification somewhat). obix-195  obix-196 obix-116 address related issues.

Some of the confusing terms are the distinctions and relationships between

object
resource
contract
REST resources
abstractions
implementation
contracts and references to contracts and class definitions
abstractions and extensibility
