Louvre Labs ODF Scenario: Proposed enhancements for KOffice, RDF, FreOffice

The original plan called for showing an RDF-enhanced presentation file on FreOffice and then having that lead to a phone call or SMS. It now looks like this is not possible, since RDF is supported only for text files at this point. So here is a proposed change to the scenario that will allow us to show the benefit of RDF in context. 1) In the KOffice/RDF segment, which occurs earlier in the interop demo, could we use one of the Louvre Labs text documents? a) Annotate one of those documents with a vCard containing contact information for the person giving the OFS demo later, so either Pavel or Carl. b) Email that document as an attachment to Pavel or Carl, asking for the document to be reviewed and approved. 2) The start of the Louvre Labs scenario will be a "collaboration phase", where OFS is used to collaboratively edit one or more ODF documents. a) OFS shows their features, including ability to download, edit and merge changes from multiple collaborators. b) After showing that we turn the projector to Suresh and the phone, showing the inbox, opening the email with the attachment, launching the attachment c) Suresh sees that something in the document is incorrect, so he accesses the embedded vCard data to call Pavel or Carl to give them some simple instructions, like "Change paragraph 3 to correct the date" or something like that. d) We can then switch back to OFS to show that change made and then integrated into the document. So the idea is we are showing collaboration occurring simultaneously via multiple modes. 3) We then continue on with the lpOD portion of the demo. Ideally, the document from the previous steps, is included in what lpOD does, so we can demonstrate how the changes have made it through the scenario, I think this would be cool if we can pull this off. The key will be to have a smooth transition from 2a to 2b/c to 2d. We only have one projector. But presumably OFS is hooked up via VGA port and Suresh via TV Out. So in theory we could have everyone hooked up at once and on the stage and switch back and forth via the projectors controls. But we'll need to try that out once we are in Budapest. Regards, -Rob
