The current text reads:

"This attribute specifies a data style. Its value shall match the name of a data style."

Which I take to mandate the existence of a data style, which bears the name being specified.

There is only one other case with similar language:

style:next-style-name, for the element <style:master-page> we say: "The value of this attribute shall be the name of a <style:master-page> element."

As far as I can determine, these are the only two cases that mandate that names of styles exist in order to invoke them. We do not say in any case what happens if a style is invoked that does not exist. That would be an ODF-Next issue.

So, for 18.471 I suggest:

"The style:data-style-name attribute specifies the name of a data style."

And, for 18.502.2 I suggest:

Current text: "The style:next-style-name attribute identifies the master page that is used for the next page if the current page is entirely filled." -> "The style:next-style-name attribute *specifies the name of* the master page that is used for the next page if the current page is entirely filled."

Current text: "The value of this attribute shall be the name of a <style:master-page> element." to be deleted.
