I think both resolutions are okay. Patrick's resolution is okay because one could argue that a section is not only defined by the <text:section> element, but also by it's child elements. Or one could go down to the level of XML elements, where it is okay to talk about a parent element.

I'd like to leave it up to Patrick as TC editor to decide on the one or the other approach. 

I wrote a mail to him notifying him of the change to this issue, since this seems to be a more reasonable way of notification than a needs-discussion flag. Moreover, this issue not not yet applied, so it can be assumed that Patrick notices this discussion when applying the issue.
