Dear Monica J. Martin, I inform the followings to your inquiries. 1. Your misunderstanding You said "As ECOM has created these process definitions using ebBP. This is successful usage of the technical specification. Would ECOM be willing to acknowledge that to OASIS." This is your misunderstanding. ECOM and JEITA are the different organizations in Japan. ECOM is a standard body regarding EC in Japan. ECOM is an independent organization to many industries. On the other hand, JEITA is an organization of the electric and electronics industry in Japan. Actually, JEITA has created these process definitions using ebBP. ECOM has neither the relation nor the contribution for this job. 2. Answers to your inquiries The following statements are the statements by the secretary general of EC Center of JEITA. (1) Statement of ebBP usage The EC Center of Japan Electronics & Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) has developed and has been operating ECALGA standard, which is a XML based EDI standard for the electric and electronics industry in Japan. The ECALGA standard is using ebMS, ebCPPA, and ebBP specifications among the ebXML specifications. (2) Any consideration to provide the process specification in English The business process specifications of ECALGA are described in Japanese language. XML values in BPSS instances are described using Japanese language. At present, there is no plan to translate the specifications to English language. 3. Please change the titles and others regarding uploaded BPSS samples of JEITA at ebBP page. The sample BPSS instances developed by JEITA are uploaded in the Document page of TC members page at ebBP TC page in OASIS Web site. The title and the document name are inappropriate. Please delete the word "ECOM". Because, ECOM has neither the relation nor the contribution for these samples. (1) Title "ECOM JEITA ebBP sample process definitions in Japanese" should be changed to "JEITA ebBP sample process definitions in Japanese" (2) Document names "ecom-jeita-ebbp-samples-definitions-aug2006.zip" should be changed to "jeita-ebbp-samples-definitions-aug2006.zip" Best Regards, Yukinori Saito
