DIRECTIONS
==================================================================
Sun's Menlo Park campus is located at the western end of the
Dumbarton Bridge. So if you're coming from the west (the
Peninsula), head for the bridge but go into the Sun campus rather
than actually getting on the bridge. If you're coming from the
East Bay, cross the bridge and then turn into the Sun campus as
soon as you get to the main entrance.
Here are the same directions in more detail.
1. From somewhere on the Peninsula:
1a. Coming from a hotel in Palo Alto:
Take University Avenue to Middlefield and turn left on
Middlefield toward Menlo Park. Turn right on Willow and
then continue at number 1d below.
1b. Coming down the Peninsula from the north (for example, from
SFO):
Take Highway 101 south (toward San Jose) and get off at the
second Willow exit ("Dumbarton Bridge"). This will put you
on Willow headed toward the campus. Continue at 1d below.
1c. Coming up the Peninsula from the south (for example, from SJC):
Take 101 north (toward San Francisco) and get off at the
first Willow exit ("Dumbarton Bridge"). This will put you
on Willow headed toward the campus. Continue at 1d below.
1d. Proceed east on Willow -- toward the bridge and away from
the town of Menlo Park -- until you reach a signal at the
entrance to the Sun campus. Just keep going straight
through the intersection into campus. DO NOT turn right at
the signal, because this will put you on the approach to the
bridge. If this happens, there is still one more chance to
turn around at the intersection with University Avenue in
East Palo Alto.
2. From anywhere in the East Bay: take Interstate 880 to the
Dumbarton Bridge. Avoid the FasTrak lane and be ready to pay
a two-dollar bridge toll. Cross the bridge. Go through the
first signal after crossing the bridge (University Avenue in
East Palo Alto). At the second signal (Willow), turn right
into the Sun Microsystems campus.
As you enter the campus through the main entrance at Willow Road,
the building straight ahead of you is MPK10, which is where you
will need to sign in. Park as close as you can to MPK10 and sign
in at the lobby; photo ID will be required.
