LOCALIZATION

   JPLSC: JB: Should not translate the TC page itself.  [Mail to
   this effect was subsequently sent to the UBL list.]

   KRLSC: JB: I will notify the -dev lists that the translation is
   available for review. [Done.]

STANDING ITEMS

   Calendar review: See 6 October message from Patrick and Thomas.

      November TC meeting in Santa Clara: GKH and TM will not be
      able to attend.  YS will not be able to attend but will try
      to find someone from the JPLSC to do this.  PY and TL will
      not be able to attend but plan to discuss it with William
      Chan.

      GKH: August 2005 TC meeting will probably be in Ottawa 8-12
      August 2005, the week after the Extreme Markup conference in
      Montreal.

   Liaison reports

      Report on discussions with OASIS Tax XML TC; call for
         participation in joint team to work on XBRL in UBL

      eBSC representation after October

         JB to contact Marty Burns as a possible representative.

         JTC1/SC34: GKH: DSDL is progressing; the compact syntax
         for RNG is progressing; not much new to report.  The SC34
         plenary will meet at the XML 2004 conference in November.

   HISC report

      GKH: Haven't heard from Fabio lately, but PY says that he is
      interested in participating.  Would be interested to know
      from Asian participants whether the Crane stylesheets are
      working with documents containing Asian characters.

      AI: LSCs to try out Ken's stylesheets.

      GKH: Will check with Fabio about moving HISC meetings to
      Tuesday evenings (Wednesday mornings in Asia) to accommodate
      participation by UBL members in Asia/Pacific.

   TBG17 Liaison Team report

      TM: The Team met again this week.  TM is working on mapping
      the draft CCs to the UBL library and hopes to complete work
      this weekend.  The team also discussed using this as input
      to recommending a strategy for harmonization with TBG17 (to
      be considered at the F2F in Santa Clara).
