Review of Pacific call
No comments.
PRD3
PB: Spreadsheets have been edited; I assume that the issue list
is closed now. TM has done some editing on the names; he will
update that and send it out. Was hoping SW would be on this
call. AL will do the FX and send SW the archive file that she
can use to make schemas and send back to AL. AL can enter the
spreadsheets into the old version of FX, but not produce the
PRD3 schemas that require the latest version of FX. GEFEG
prefers to generate the schemas themselves rather than
circulate a version that's not ready for release. However, we
could produce schemas using the old version and then handcraft
them to produce PRD3.
ACTION: Alan to upload the revised spreadsheets to the
repository, mail SW, and contact SW to arrange for schema
generation. Then PT (currently in Munich) will turn around the
ASN.1 ASAP for inclusion in PRD3.
NDR
We are trying to get the NDR document into public review
according to the schedule we arrived at in Montral.
AGREED to include a paragraph (modeled on the one in the latest
PRD3 draft) explaining the relocation of the IND rules from the
NDR document to the UBL 2.0 document.
ACTION: JB to revise the front matter credits in the version of
17 August, add the IND paragraph, and send back to the NDR
editors.
NOVEMBER 2006 UBL TC MEETING IN SINGAPORE
Kama is still not available for a TSC meeting this week.
ACTION: AS and TM to confirm Singapore meeting dates in next
week's TSC call.
MARCH 2007 UBL TC MEETING IN WASHINGTON
We are hoping to arrange a venue in the Washington (DC) area
for our UBL TC meeting 5-7 March 2007 so that we can set up a
work session for the ATG2 and UBL NDR editors. The only
locational requirement is that it not be in Tysons Corners.
Downtown preferred.
ACTION: JB and AS to seek a host for the 5-9 March 2007 UBL TC
meeting in Washington.
MAY/JUNE 2007 UBL TC MEETING IN NEW YORK
JB: UBL TC member David Fitzpatrick has pointed out that our
tentative plan to hold this meeting in Ithaca 28 May - 1 June
will run afoul of Cornell University commencement 27 May.
Experience has shown that every hotel room for many miles
around will be booked months in advance by parents and
relatives of the graduating class. On the other hand, these
people clear out on Monday 28 May, leaving Ithaca virtually
deserted for a couple of weeks following. We therefore have
three options:
- Shift the meeting one day later, from Mon-Fri
2007.05.28-06.01 to Tue-Fri 2007.05.29-06.01 (meaning a full
work day Friday and a return on Sunday for people wishing to
get a Finger Lakes tour on Saturday)
- Shift the meeting a week later to Mon-Fri 2007.06.04-08
(with a tour for those interested on the preceding Saturday
or Sunday)
- Hold the meeting as originally scheduled the week of 28 May,
but at Sun offices in Manhattan
AGREED that we would prefer to move the meeting a week later
and hold it in Ithaca the week of 4 June on our usual 4.5-day
work schedule, BUT we need to hear from other members planning
to attend.
JB: Note in particular that flights into ITH (a regional
airport that usually requires a stop in Philadelphia) are more
expensive than direct flights into JFK and could also take a
lot longer, depending on the connection. Everyone thinking of
attending this meeting should spend some time this week
comparing itineraries before we make a final decision.
NEXT WEEK
Note that we will be discussing this report on the TBG1/UBL
activity in next week's Atlantic call:
