Issue 146 - WS-Discovery - Conformance must require implementing atleast one of the prescribed roles

Description:

 

Section 2.6 Compliance. As per the current language (below) all of the roles and modes are optional. This is too loose. We need to establish a minimal baseline for conformance.

 

“An endpoint MAY implement more than one of the roles; Target Service, Discovery Proxy, and Client; and MAY implement it in more than one of the modes; ad hoc and managed; however, for each implemented role and mode, it MUST implement them as specified herein.”

 

Proposed Resolution:

 

Change the MAY in the quoted paragraph to be “MUST implement at least one” as follows:

 

“An endpoint MAY MUST implement more than at least one of the roles; Target Service, Discovery Proxy, and Client; and MAY implement it in more than one of the modes; ad hoc and managed; however, for each implemented role and mode, it MUST implement them as specified herein.”
