Subject: Request for Comments on Forthcoming Fujitsu TC vote For WS-ResourceFramework
To all Fujitsu Web Service Standard Stakeholders:
From: Tom Rutt (Fujitsu Software)
Dave Snelling (Fujitsu Labs)
The OASIS WS-RF TC will be initiating a TC ballot to progress the
following documents as Committee Specs for OASIS member ballot.
1. WS-Resource :

2. WS-ResourceLifetime :

3. WS-BaseFaults :

4. WS-ServiceGroup :

5. WS-ResourceProperties :

There are two, potentially volatile references in these specs:
1) WS Addressing reference is to a Candidate Recommendation. While the
WS Addressin spec itself will have wording changes from the CR version,
the schema and its namespace http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing) is
not expected to change. There were no issues on the CR public review
which affected the schema. The WS addressing group will use that same
namespace in the final Recommendation if there are no schema changes
introduced after implementation interop activities...
2) WS Notification reference is possibly volatile.
WSRF makes reference to a small part of the WSN suite of
specifications, in particular topics. The version referenced is a
Public Comment version, and is therefore persistent, if not yet an
OASIS specification. There is no reason to expect this schema to change
in content between now and when it becomes a standard.
The important point is that both of these, from a schema view, are
unlikely to change and we really need to close down this wsrf work so
that here is a chance of some real interoperation and implementations.
If either of these referenced namespaces do change, the changes will be
very minor and a WSRF V1.1 would only take a few weeks to effect.
Both of us are planning of voting yes in the TC ballot to progress these
to OASIS CS for Member vote.
If any Fujitsu Person disagrees, please open discussion by sending email
