What is the general consensus out there for specifying a DATE element?
Has this group come agree on a "conventional" method?

<!ELEMENT some-date-element (#PCDATA)>
<!ATTLIST some-date-element
  TYPE CDATA #REQUIRED
  VALUE CDATA #REQUIRED
  >

Using this element would look like:

<some-date-element type="ISO 8601" value="19980708">July 8,
1998</some-date-value>

Okay, guys and gals, pound away.
