I'd really like to extend the DOM to include attribute type, too. SAX and
DOM should be able to play well together.
One thing that keeps coming up but which isn't being explicitly addressed
is backward compatability. In this case, I don't see how subclassing the
Attribute list interface to support specified would create any compatibility
problems.
