Subject: Programming Position at the TLG Project
The Thesaurus Linguae Graecae Project (TLG) at the University of
California, Irvine seeks to hire a Programmer/Analyst. The successful
candidate will be primarily responsible for the development of a Web-based
system to structure, search and retrieve the bibliographical, lexical
and textual materials comprising the TLG digital library.
He/she must have excellent programming skills and experience in relational
databases and WWW development tools, preferably in a Unix environment.
Experience or at least conceptual knowledge of text encoding methods and
standards (particularly SGML/XML and Unicode) is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Greek will be a plus.
