Yes. Oracle 8i interMedia and IBM DB2 UDB (w/ XML Extender) manage
XML-enabled databases:
- various indexing schemes to provide stemming, linguistic searches, and so
on
- section searches of XML docs
- SQL queries over XML data using criteria such as CONTAINS 'impressionist'
or ABOUT 'impressionist'. Also query over rich types such as images and
audio.
