A search on msdn will reveal that this error code means E_INVALIDARG.
msxsl was an old technology preview we replaced with MSXML.DLL in IE5.
See http://msdn.microsoft.com/xml for the latest information.

Subject: msxsl error
Hi,
I once used the msxsl to generate html pages from
an xml input document via xsl style sheet, but now
when I try to run same program, it gives me the
following error message:
Error parsing document 'abc.xml'
Exception: hr= 0x80070057
The only different between before and now is I'm
running Win98 (with IE5) now and before was Win95
(with IE4).
Can anyone help me to identify the cause of the
problem? Was it due to the software expiration?
Or, do I need a newer version of msxsl for Win98/NT?
If I do, where can I get a newer version? I kind
of search the www.microsoft.com/xml but couldn't
find them.
Any helps would be greatly appreciated.
