Jelks,
I don't know why you're missing the obvious point, which is that there
is lot of programming overhead in allowing any tag to be used. It's also
very confusing for beginners. Far better to restrict the language to one
tag:
document ::= StartTag Stuff EndTag
StartTag ::= '<RTSML>'
EndTag ::= '</RTSML>'
I was wondering why we couldn't have '/' as the end tag, if there is
only one, but I think that would weaken the error-chocking capabilities.
You also said:

I assume this was a typong mistake; you surely mean in the 1st April,
2000?
