From time to time I see postings asking about "real world" XML applications.
Software Development magazine (February 2000 issue) is running an
interesting agribusiness case study -- using XML to publish university
agricultural research.
"XML and Pig Poop: Agribusiness Online" by Rick Wayne, Univ. of Wisconsin
The developers used XML to get numbers into Java programs instead of coding
lots of equations as
Java. One of the models is used for odor prediction. How's that for "real
world" XML!
