|
| I should add that SAX **code** has a unique namespace defined by
| xml.org, i.e. the Java classes are of the form org.xml.sax.*
|
| This domain name 'belongs' to Jon Bosak, who gave permission for
| it to be used **for the purpose above only**. This does not imply
| that any SAX resources are located on any server under that domain
| and it is my understanding that this domain name is not available
| for any similar purpose. [Have I got this right, Jon?] Nor does it
| imply any ownership of SAX.

I traded the domain name to OASIS in return for an individual
membership.

I don't think that anyone owns SAX, OASIS included, but I strongly
believe that further work on it should be conducted in a properly
constituted OASIS technical committee so that the evolution of the
specification from this point on is guaranteed to take place under
a democratic process that is open to all interested parties,
provides an IPR policy based on an open-source model, and is
visible to the world at large. The xml-dev list supplies
visibility but not the rest of what's needed.

Jon

P.S. Please remember that I see messages in this list about a week
after they are posted.
