Actually, I was replying to a message about a good analogy to use for
explaining RDF to a beginner. There was a message saying that you could
help someone begin to understand by saying "an RDF model is sort of like a
Java interface". A reply to this explained why it was incorrect, but the
reasons given seemed to result from a confusion between classes and
interfaces in Java so I thought I'd try and correct that mistake.
Obviously there *are* differences between RDF models and Java interfaces -
many of which have been brought to light by this discussion - but as a
jumping off point for developing an understanding it's a useful
comparison.
