Curt,
I'll bring up to the SVG working group the possibility of offering an
alternative format such as you have described, but don't get your hopes up
as it is very late in the cycle and there is likely to be pushback against
having two formats for the same thing, which is often considered a bad
idea. (He ducks once again.)
