We use XML Schema to generate the Java classes, but if you have an
existing schema and existing set of classes (which most probably you
will), we have a separate mapping file to just map between the two.

The same mapping file is also used to map Java classes into relational
tables and LDAP directories.

If you use the XML Schema to Java generator you also get schema-based
validation for your Java objects, enumeration types, etc.
