Bernard,

Although it is difficult to estimate what you really need to best handle the
data you need to store, I do know of a repository/indexing engine/search
engine for XML documents. The TEXTML Server is specifically geared towards
developers and offers a documented COM API.

It is geared towards full text management, but since it is a true XML "in"
and XML "out" server, you can re-purpose its functionality across a
multitude of applpications. The repository also accepts any binary file you
wish to imbed or store alongside your XML documents.

It is available in a free downloadable version that is fully functional with
no "time-bomb" that comes with a demo application developed with ASP and 800
XML documents to play with.
Check it out at www.textmlserver.com

Object: resources about data repositories

hello

i have absolutely no experience with xml so far, therefore my - maybe
dumb - question: are there any pointers / informations about building
data repositories with xml? the data sources may be of various types
like data bases, flat files or even plain text. as far as i understand
the concepts of xml it should provide a good way to establish data
interchange between different systems providing a consistent format of
the data, true? are there already some tools around? or standards?

thanks for any input!

regards

	bernard
