Thanks for your input, and first of all, I believe u know bit about SOAP,
and if so, MS SOAP Toolkti is based on COM, obviously, u can write the same
code in CORBA - the object model does not really matter for the path you are
taking now, back to couple of years ago, there was a Unix COM lib support
already, besides, if u read Anthony's mail - Re: XML across varied servers
...
* Set up a file share on NT, use samba on UNIX to
 place the file on the share.  Use NT "at" scheduler
 to periodically check for and process new files.
 If going from NT to UNIX, use cron.

* Drop xml files on an NFS-shared volume and use
 NT SFU to grab from UNIX periodically.

* Use FTP to push or pull the files periodically
...
and if u know COM pretty well, u may know u can write executable based COM
server on Unix side, and put the other COM clients or servers on NT side,
and the inter-communications between them are surely easy, u can also call
NT side COM server or service from Unix side through the Unix COM server
mentioned above, combined with SOAP protocol, u can surely transfer
what-ever data u want to, and COM+ improve asynch. calls over COM - cause
COM+ wrap up all the services in NT option-pack into OS level, this will
help - in this way, u make a call from your NT side COM client, and send it
to Unix based COM server, then contiue your regular job - the notification
will reach u later without touching your finger, briefly, that's all - put
in this way, we can say: COM+ = COM + MTS + MSMQ + ....., makeit clear,
right ?
