I've been silent on this topic thus far, despite having
been nominated at least three times for that role.  (Many
thanks for those votes of confidence !!)

I think that it's important that the "maintainer" be a
group of people ... and I think it's likely that Oasis
can get that group together.  Particularly given some
volunteers from this list, who I expect to come forward
after some process skeleton exists!

Plus, it's likely an opportune time to address the kinds
of issues Len has highlighted ... essentially, it's
been a problem that SAX has no organizational "home".
That's actually a kind of thing Oasis is set up to do,
but XML-DEV hasn't done.
