Now I'm *really* confused.
Deprecating templates in XSLT would be more like deprecating
functions in Java altogether - templates are very much at the core of the
language. Why would you want to do that? What would you replace it with? Would
it still be XSLT in any meaningful way if you did this?

"disparage" XSLT templates?
