Hi Josh,
Josh said:
Thanks for your reply and It is very helpful. I am working on a XML
vocabulary, but I was wondering if there is a neutral XML vocabulary
available for puchase orders may be I can go ahead and have a look at it.
Do you or any one would know about where I can find it?
Didier replies:
Up to my knowledge there are no standards available for procurement. In
fact, each community create its own vocabulary. So, I guess that yours is as
best as an other one. Anyway, you'll have to transform it into another
format for each partner anyway.
What I did, in our case, is simply to use one of the vocabulary (pick the
one from the major partner - the one you'll deal more often or that brings
more business to you). At least, you won't have to transform your apps'
output to this partner's format. You'll have to transform it for all the
others. So, if you have to deal with n partners, you have, with this
strategy to develop n-1 transformation sheets. Otherwise, if you have your
own format you'll have to create n transformation sheets. I agree, one less
is not a lot, just think it could mean some free time to enjoy your
accomplishment (some time to reward yourself). Anyhow, this is just a
suggestion.
cheers
