Try this:

1. TEI      http://www.uic.edu/orgs/tei/
2. DocBook  http://www.docbook.org/
3. XHTML    http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/
4. MS Office XML Reference
      http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/officedev/ofxml2k/ofxml2k.htm

These might be too big for your purposes, though.
And they're not exactly homogeneous, but similiar.
