Hi Simon
Simon said:
I wonder if maybe there'd be a way to establish this a little more solidly
as a means of providing metadata about links and inclusions. XLink already
provides some metadata, but I suspect we're going to find more places where
extra information about a link might be useful, and where they might be
useful across multiple applications.
The stylesheet example here is a good one. Edd also noted digital
signatures, and I suspect there may be more lurking out there as eventual
possibilities.
Didier replies:
Yes this would help to make our XML document portable. In other words, to
have our XML documents to be processed by more than one vendor's solution.
Do not forget also conditional inclusion since the content's inclusion may
be variable on:
a) the device profile
b) the user profile
Actually, information architect filled for a patent for dynamic aggregation
based on the user profile or the device profile. So maybe its too late and
conditional aggregation is now a proprietary solution????
cheers
