   Namespace Dereferencing: Erratum

I should point out a rather large error I made about dereferencing
namespaces in RDF. Contrary to my earlier statement, not *all* RDF systems
have dereferencable RDF Schemas at the end of their namespaces. For
example, Dublin Core and RSS have no such Schemas, only a prose definition
at the end of their namespaces.
Having said that, I expect more complex RDF systems, including ontologies,
to require the use of RDF Schemas to show how the RDF model works. I
suppose that an SW must dereference its namespaces to gather information
about its syntax, otherwise the "Web of Partial Understanding" becomes the
"Web of no Understanding" :-) This is backed up by the Axiomatic
publications that Simon unearthed.

Kindest Regards,
Sean B. Palmer
