Hi all,
Next Tuesday, 17 July 2001, representatives of the PRISM Working
Group will make a public presentation on the PRISM specification.
PRISM (Publishing Requirements for Industry Standard Metadata) is a
metadata specification initially developed for the magazine
publishing industry. It has gained support from a number of vendors,
who see it as applicable to the publishing-like needs of many other
organizations.
PRISM recommends the use of existing practices, such as XML,
namespaces, RDF, the Dublin Core, and various ISO-standard formats
and codes. It defines additional items in order to meet the
requirements expressed by the publishers in the working group.
The meeting will be held at the NYC offices of Kinecta, which are
in the Hippodrome Building, 1120 Ave. of the Americas (between
43'rd and 44'th). The time is 2:00-3:30 PM.
All are welcome. If possible, please RSVP to Linda Burman,
linda@laburman.com.
Best regards,
Ron Daniel Jr.
