I'd further constrain that to either
"does not have a useful intrinsic meaning" or
"does not have a useful meaning beyond that which you give it"
It's always possible to take content, strip it of context, and put it
into your own context.
Of course, I tend to go into convulsions whenever I hear the word
"meaning" used without irony.
