RE: [xml-dev] W3C Culture and Aims (Was: What does SOAP really ad d?)

[ Lists Home | Date Index | Thread Index ]

W3C is just an elitist organization in nature with a paternal bend. It
knows what is best. Nothing is final until it had a say in it. It is
dangerous for anyone else but it to meddle with the future of the web.
It believes in good things like open access, but you can't have open
access if you want the kind of productivity W3C have long demonstrated!

OASIS is more of an underdog organization in nature with a maternal
bend. It is not sure what it wants, but it doesn't want people wasting
time and energy with competing standards. It can't say no, but it
doesn't know how to say yes well either.

WS-I feels like a made-for-political-hijacking organization with a
worthy goal and unworthy ambitions.

Well, having elitists run things isn't too bad as long as the elitists
don't mind being beheaded once in a while to relieve the peasants.
