It seems to me that as soon as you are using multiple XML documents
or facilities "together," then you need a non-flat namespace.

For example, who gets to use Signature as an element name.  XMLDSIG
or the digitizer that outputs a base64 GIF?  A digitally signed and
timestamped image of someone's "john hancock" seems like it would
run into insoluable conflicts.

What about marking up typed data?  Is that an XSD floating point, or
a VAX/VMS G-format floating point number?

Make sense?
